Tander tops the times in opening practice at Phillip Island
Garth Tander has topped the time sheets in the opening practice session at Phillip Island today.
On green Michelin tyres, Tander took his brand-new Audi RS 3 LMS to the fastest time of the 30 minute session, ahead of Dylan O’Keeffe (Alfa Romeo), John Martin (Honda), and the other new Audi of Leanne Tander.
Andre Heimgarter (Subaru), Tony D’Alberto (Honda), Jason Bright (Volkswagen), Nathan Morcom (Hyundai), Aareon Cameron (Volkswagen) and James Moffat (Renault) rounded out the top 10.
The session ran smoothly for most competitors, expect for Alexandra Whitley who caused a red flag on her out lap when she found the gravel trap at Turn 6. Whitley ended the session in 16th place.
Practice 2 will be held at 2:20pm AEST.
