Jimmy Vernon’s management team has issued a statement this afternoon, confirming that the young driver has parted ways with Garry Rogers Motorsport.
In a brief statement, it confirmed that a “mutual agreement” between the parties would see the two will cease their partnership.
The statement says that the separation will give Vernon the opportunity to “concentrate on developing a new deal for participating in the TCR Australia Series in 2020.”
Vernon endured an up and down first three events, that included some good speed, but a number of incidents that hampered his overall results.
He thanked the Victorian-based team for the three rounds that he contested at Sydney Motorsport Park, Phillip Island and The Bend.
GRM replaced Vernon with Jordan Cox in the last round at Queensland Raceway. Team owner Barry Rogers confirmed the #7 Alfa Romeo will continue in the series, and the driver for the remaining rounds will be confirmed in due course.
