Audi guest international driver Jean-Karl Vernay has withdrawn from today’s two carsales TCR Australia Series races after falling ill.
Vernay started the weekend with a perfect score card, claiming pole position and taking the Race 1 win ahead of Dylan O’Keeffe and Russell Ingall.
The WTCR driver came to the Queensland Raceway circuit this morning but after feeling unwell, sought medical advise and will sit out of the day’s on-track action.
The Melbourne Performance Centre team has elected to keep the car on the circuit, allowing Aaron Seton the opportunity to make his TCR Australia debut.
Seton, a third-generation racer and the son of two-time Australian Touring Car champion Glenn Seton, will start from the rear of the grid in Race 2.
Two 30 minute races will be held today, with the first race starting at 1:15pm AEST.

“It is a real shame about the situation that we have with JK,” said Troy Russell.
“After taking pole position and the win yesterday, we were really looking forward to building on those results.
“It’s great that we’ve been able to get Aaron Seton to drive the car in JK’s absence. His name needs no introduction to our sport, and he has built a great reputation as a driver in his own right. It will be a baptism of fire, but we’re looking forward to seeing how he goes.”
